New Member Process

GNIAR membership is voluntary.  However, as a licensee whose license is being held by a Principal or Managing Broker who is a REALTOR® member of GNIAR you have 30 days from affiliation to either make application with GNIAR (unless you hold REALTOR® membership at another board/association of REALTORS®)  or become a non-member licensee.  Refer to GNIAR bylaws, Article V, Section 3e and Article VI, Section 6.

Non-member licensee - A licensed agent that is not a GNIAR member but is affiliated in a REALTOR® office with GNIAR and the licensed agent doesn't belong to any association.  A non-member licensee that doesn't hold membership anywhere may not use the REALTOR® logo on advertisements or business cards.  He or she must pay non-member prices for services.  He or she may not use the MLS logo.

REALTOR® - The term REALTOR® is a registered collective membership mark that identifies a real estate professional who is a member of the National Association of REALTORS® and subscribes to its strict Code of Ethics.

Step one:

Meet with the Membership Coordinator.  You will need to complete the Membership Application , click here for a copy.  You will also need to complete the Important Orientation Information Form, click here for a copy.  You and your broker must sign both forms.  If you have just passed your licensing exam and have not been assigned a license, you must provide a copy of your “Pass Sheet.”  Otherwise, you must provide a copy of your license.

At this time, you will be assigned an MLS ID and a temporary password for accessing the MLS.

Step two:

Your next step will be with the Accounting Department.  All fees and dues must be paid at the time of application.  Check and credit cards are the only acceptable forms of payment.

Step three:

You will meet with the Keycard Coordinator to receive your keycard (a device that allows access to the common lockbox system utilized by GNIAR members).  You may have a PDA/smartphone device which can be set up to access the lockbox system at this time in lieu of the keycard.

We hope that your first experience with the GNIAR staff is smooth and informative.
We look forward to building a productive business relationship with you!
